Learn About the Admissions Process and Financial InformationA prospective resident, family member, or treatment provider can contact our admissions team to initiate the process. Our staff is here to answer any questions, assist you through the process, and guide your next steps towards admission. Our process includes gathering information on the potential resident’s past history and determining if Rose Hill Center is an appropriate fit and best treatment option.

  • Physician Referral – To be completed by the current attending psychiatrist and should include supporting documents (lab results and psychiatric evaluations). NOTE: If the Rose Hill applicant is hospitalized, this form should not be completed by the hospital psychiatrist but rather the treating psychiatrist prior to hospitalization.
  • Benefit Contact Information – Must be completed as part of the application and can be done by either the applicant or the applicant’s family. Required documents listed under the heading “Necessary for Admission” must be mailed or faxed to Rose Hill Center. (Note: Be sure to copy both sides of any two-sided documentation, i.e., insurance card, driver’s license, etc).
  • Resident Application – Completed only by the resident applicant (Note: if the applicant is too ill to complete this form, the Director of Admissions may determine that it is not required for admission).
  • Release of Information – Should be printed out, signed and forwarded to the medical records department of any hospital where the individual has been treated for psychiatric diagnoses. We have provided this form although some hospitals may require that you use only their form. NOTE: Rose Hill’s Admissions Department is available to follow up with the hospital(s) after you have signed the release of information form and spoken with the medical records department. Please provide us with the name and phone number of the hospital along with the name of the medical records personnel with whom you spoke.

If the applicant is currently hospitalized, advise the hospital treatment team of your interest in Rose Hill Center prior to discharge and ask them to call Laura Mueller, Director of Admissions at 248-531-0341. We understand the critical time constraints of hospital admissions and discharges and can respond promptly to work with the hospital therapy team on plans for discharge to Rose Hill Center.

Financial Considerations

When seeking admission at Rose Hill Center, prospective residents, 18 and over, have access to a variety of payment options. Our dedicated admissions team can describe these options in greater detail to help make this process as easy as possible. For more information, please contact us.

Standard methods of payment include:

  • Private pay
  • Combination of private pay and financial assistance grants
  • Some health insurance may cover a portion of the charges
  • Public pay, if provided by a mental health authority

Tabitha receives and responds to all forms of initial contact. She is here to answer any questions that you have, discuss general aspects of Rose Hill, and review financial options. Tabitha is happy to conduct on-site tours for those who would like to see our campus in action, and have a greater understanding of our treatment services. She initiates and facilitates the admissions process with each prospective resident and their family.

Director of Admissions

Laura guides families through the admission process and into treatment in a therapeutic and responsive manner. She collaborates with the prospective resident, their family, and the treatment team regarding admission and financial planning. Understanding the time sensitive nature of admission, she helps to remove barriers that prevent people from accessing treatment. Laura gathers admission-related materials (such as medical and treatment records) conducts initial pre-admission screenings and resident interviews. If a prospective resident is currently in the hospital, please inform the hospital treatment team of your interest in Rose Hill Center and have them contact Laura as soon as possible.

Rose Hill Center Resident Criteria

Rose Hill Center offers various therapies designed to make recovery from mental illness possible. These services successfully treat residents diagnosed with schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder or major depressive disorder.

In addition to an appropriate diagnosis*, prospective residents must fit the following criteria:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Not presently a danger to themselves or others
  • Not actively abusing or in need of detoxification from drugs or alcohol
  • Able to independently care for themselves
  • Able to participate in daily treatment services as agreed to in their individual treatment plan
  • Willing to work with a psychiatrist toward the most effective medication regimen

*Due to the nature of Rose Hill’s services, we are generally unable to treat persons with the following conditions as described in the DSM-5: Antisocial Personality Disorders (301.7) and Narcissistic Personality Disorders (301.81). We can treat a limited number of persons with Borderline Personality Disorder (301.83) or Histrionic Personality Disorder (301.50) but require that these persons be willing to participate in our Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Service.

** Rose Hill does not allow residents to possess or use alcoholic beverages or foods; alcohol-based mouthwash; inhalants; non-prescribed medications, herbal remedies or over the counter medications not approved by our doctor; controlled medications not prescribed for them; or illegal drugs. In addition, Rose Hill Center does not allow the growth and/or use of medical marijuana by any of our residents who possess a medical marijuana registration identification card or documentation with the State of Michigan or any other state. Violation of this policy, including the growth and/or use of medical marijuana by a resident, will be grounds for discharge from any of our residential services pursuant to our Admission Agreement, Resident Handbook and other policies.
