BSN, RN, CAS, Director of Nursing

Kelly Patrick, BSN, RN, CAS, serves as Director of Nursing at Rose Hill Center, where she brings nearly 30 years of nursing experience and a deep commitment to supporting individuals and families navigating complex mental health needs. Since joining Rose Hill in 2022, Kelly has helped guide nursing care within a compassionate, structured residential treatment environment that supports adults working toward stability, independence, and lifelong well-being.

Kelly earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Michigan State University and later completed post-bachelor studies in elementary education at Eastern Michigan University. She began her nursing career in Pediatric Medicine at the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital before expanding her work into psychiatric nursing.

Her path toward mental health nursing was shaped by both professional experience and personal advocacy. After her son was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, epilepsy, and schizoaffective disorder, Kelly became especially focused on supporting adults with co-occurring mental illness and autism spectrum disorder. This perspective has strengthened her passion for family-centered care, education, and advocacy for improved mental health services.

Throughout her career, Kelly has worked in both adult and child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Michigan. She has also authored a book from the family perspective and has advocated on Capitol Hill for increased funding and support for mental health services and family-centered care.

Kelly is a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association and remains dedicated to advancing compassionate, informed nursing care for individuals living with mental illness and neurodevelopmental disabilities.

Outside of work, Kelly enjoys spending time with her husband, Eric, and their blended family of four children. She also enjoys gardening, traveling, spending time outdoors, and life at home with two rescue dogs and a long-haired cat.

Favorite Quote: “Hope and acceptance are not opposites. Acceptance allows us to see clearly; hope gives us a reason to keep moving forward.”
