The first step toward regaining control


The therapy programs offered at Rose Hill Center are designed to help adults with mental illness regain control of their lives. The individualized programs are effective in treating patients who have been diagnosed with schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder or major depressive disorder.

In addition to an appropriate diagnosis*, successful candidates for treatment at Rose Hill must meet the following criteria:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Not actively suicidal or harmful to others
  • Not currently verbally or physically aggressive
  • Not currently using drugs or alcohol (may have a coexisting substance abuse diagnosis)**
  • Independent with personal care activities
  • Able to participate in a structured daily program as directed by an Individualized Treatment Plan
  • Willing to take medications as prescribed

*Due to the nature of Rose Hill’s programming, we are generally unable to treat persons with the following conditions as described in the DSM-IV: Antisocial Personality Disorders (301.7) and Narcissistic Personality Disorders (301.81).  We can treat a limited number of persons with Borderline Personality Disorder (301.83) or Histrionic Personality Disorder (301.81) but require that these patients be willing to participate in our Dialectical Behavioral Therapy program.
** Rose Hill does not allow patients to possess or use alcoholic beverages or foods; alcohol-based mouthwash; inhalants; non-prescribed medications, herbal remedies or over the counter medications not approved by our doctor; controlled medications not prescribed for them; or illegal drugs.  In addition, Rose Hill Center does not allow the growth and/or use of medical marijuana by any of our patients who possess a medical marijuana registration identification card or documentation with the State of Michigan or any other state.  Violation of this policy, including the growth and/or use of medical marijuana by a patient, will be grounds for discharge from any of our residential programs pursuant to our admission agreement, Resident Handbook and other policies.
