The “Planning For The Future Project” is an effort by parents of persons with a lifelong disability to answer the question, “Who will do what I do when I no longer can?”

Because many issues will remain vital over a person’s lifetime, such as housing, financial resources and reliable healthcare, it’s importatnt to have a plan in place to ensure persons with a mental illness get the care they deserve after their caregivers are gone. In this must-attend meeting, Carol Obloy, Executive Director of the National PLAN Alliance, an organization that has helped over 37 communities throughout the United States develop “Future-Care” plans, will speak on the value of planning and options for families.

A graduate of the University of Michigan, Dr. Zachar received her medical degree from Michigan State University in Lansing and completed her residency training at Henry Ford Health Sciences Center in Detroit. She has specialized in behavior health for more than 15 years and is currently the psychiatric director at Segue, Inc., a nonprofit mental health agency that provides patients with essential and intensive outpatient services.

In addition, Dr. Zachar is a staff psychiatrist at Henry Ford Health System as well as a clinical assistant professor at Wayne State University. She is also a member of the American Psychiatric Association and Michigan Psychiatric Society.

“Dr. Zachar is an exceptional physician and brings with her substantial knowledge of mental health issues,” said Ben Robinson, president of Rose Hill Center. “She is very conscientious of her patients’ needs and we are confident that she will be an excellent addition to the team at Rose Hill Center.”
